One on One Basketball presents its 2nd annual overnight camp and first ever Father-Son Basketball camp. Located at the 130 acre Episcopal High School campus, the camps feature One on One’s internationally recognized basketball instruction. These programs have evolved from over a decade of One on One’s Summer Hoops Camps at the Tysons Sport & Health Club and other locations across the region.
While player development is the immediate aim, overall development, on and off the court, is what makes the One on One system so successful. Founder and former professional player Arthur Jackson states “our first overnight camp was a big success but the highlight for me was the quality time I got to spend with my son in the dorms, at meals, and especially on the court. So this year along with our week long camp we are adding a Father-Son Camp.” Coaching is difficult and coaching your own child brings the challenge to a higher level. One on One recognizes this fact and will create a positive experience where fathers and sons can bond while building the kids’ skill level and their confidence.
The Northern Virginia Basketball Camp caters to boys ages 7-16 and provides a day camp option. The program includes individual skills training, daily games and contests. Evening fun sessions focus on teamwork and sportsmanship to make the camp an enjoyable experience for the kids. 8th grade camper Austin Wiles says, “One on One is the best basketball camp! The coaches are awesome and really helped me understand the fundamentals of the game. I came home with a whole different attitude about basketball.” The Father-Son Camp is a week end camp designed for enhancing coaching skills and bonding for dads and boys 7-16 years old. This camp features games, Father/son contests, Father vs. son contests and stations focusing on “Driveway Drills”.
Northern Virginia Overnight Camp July 6-10 is 5 with a day camp option for 0. The Father-Son Camp runs July 10-12 and is 0 for both Dad and son. Additional children are only 0.00 each. Team and group discounts available. One on One Basketball runs other day camps throughout the region. Call 202-244-BALL or visit http://www.1on1basketball.com/dc.
